Privacy policy
Your enquiry, your choice
This website loads no analytics and no advertising. Its one third-party script is the support chat; the cookie policy sets out what the chat stores, sends and keeps. The enquiry form collects what you type, the page you sent it from, the time and the consent you gave.
The site uses no cookies, tracking pixels, session recording or A/B testing. The one thing it embeds is the support chat, described below and in the cookie policy. The enquiry form is your choice; the sections below explain the information kept when you use it.

Information stored with your message
Alongside your message, we store the page you sent it from, the time and the exact consent wording you agreed to. The consent record explains why we may contact you. A short enquiry reference helps us find the record if you ask about it.
To limit abuse, the server temporarily counts submissions using a scrambled version of your network address. That value is discarded when the server restarts; your address is never written to the log. An operational log records when a form was submitted, without identifying you or your location.
The hidden spam-trap field is discarded and never stored.
How we use your enquiry
We use your enquiry to reply to you.
We do not add you to a mailing list, enrich your record from other sources, sell or rent it, share it with third parties or use it to train anything. We make no automated decisions about you and build no profile.
We may contact you on WhatsApp only if you ticked its separate consent box. Withdraw that permission at any time by replying STOP.
How long we keep your enquiry
While the conversation is live, and for up to two years afterwards. If the conversation ends without a contract, the record is deleted.
To ask for deletion, write to hello@speakenglish.courses. We will delete the record without asking why and tell you when it is done.
If you use the support chat
The chat is separate from the enquiry form. A chat message does not reach your enquiry record, and an enquiry is not sent to the chat service.
What the chat service receives. The messages you type, the text and language of the page you are reading, and your network address. The name shown in the chat is the word “Visitor” unless you give one. If you leave a message rather than chat, it also receives the email address and note you choose to give.
What it is used for. Replying to you. Your messages and the page text go to an AI service to write the reply: Google Gemini first, OpenAI’s ChatGPT if Gemini is unavailable, DeepSeek after that. Your network address is used to limit how often requests can be made, and for nothing else.
How long it is kept. A chat conversation is deleted twelve months after the last activity in it: the messages, the page language, the name, anything left in the leave-a-message form, the replies and the sources they cited, any rating you gave and any question recorded as unanswered. Network addresses are deleted within two days, and are not kept for the longer period.
The twelve-month period is read from the chat service itself and checked against this page. Two things are the chat service’s account of its own system: that the deletion then removes those records on that schedule, leaving nothing behind, which it has tested against a restored copy of real data, and that network addresses go within two days.
Deletion on request. Write to hello@speakenglish.courses to have a conversation, and any email address you gave the chat, deleted before then.
Ask for access, correction or deletion
Depending on where you are, you may have rights to request a copy, correction or deletion of your information, object to its use and complain to a regulator.
We will honour requests for access, correction, deletion or objection wherever you are.
Your location determines which legal rights and regulator apply. Write to hello@speakenglish.courses for help with a request.
Who can see your enquiry
speakenglish.courses holds enquiries, with access limited to the people handling them. No customer-relationship system is connected to the form and no third party receives your enquiry.
Chat messages are separate, and are held by the chat service described above. That service, and the country its servers are in, will be named here before this site is published.
Before adding a recipient for your enquiry, such as an email service or scheduling tool, we will name it here and explain what it receives and where it is based. The server refuses to forward enquiries to undeclared destinations.
Children. This website and its form are for institutional staff. We do not knowingly collect information from children.
