Cookie policy

Neither this site nor the support chat sets a cookie.

speakenglish.courses writes no local storage, session storage or browser database of its own. The one exception is inside the chat panel, and it belongs to the chat service’s own address rather than to this one.

There is no cookie banner. Nothing is stored until you send a chat message, and what is stored then does only the thing you started: it carries that conversation.

This website loads no analytics and no advertising. Its one third-party script is the support chat; the cookie policy sets out what the chat stores, sends and keeps. The enquiry form collects what you type, the page you sent it from, the time and the consent you gave.

A chat button sits in the corner of every page. It loads a script from the chat service, and opens the chat panel in a frame served from that service’s own address. Until you send a message, nothing is stored and nothing is sent.

What is stored. The conversation the panel is carrying: an entry named sb_widget_wgt_r0lIUZLVYstUFqtHayNTEw, holding a conversation token and a conversation identifier so the conversation survives moving between pages. The chat service stops accepting the token eight hours after issuing it. Clearing it sooner is yours to do — start a new conversation, or clear site data for the chat panel’s address in your browser.

What is sent. The messages you type, the text and language of the page you are reading, and your network address. The network address is used to limit how often requests can be made, and the chat service says it is deleted within two days. If you leave a message rather than chat, the email address and note you choose to give are sent as well.

Who reads your messages. Your messages and the page text go to an AI service to write the reply: Google Gemini first, OpenAI’s ChatGPT if Gemini is unavailable, and DeepSeek after that. The chat service holds the conversation in its own database.

How long it is kept. A chat conversation is deleted twelve months after the last activity in it, along with everything recorded with it; the privacy policy lists what that covers. Network addresses go within two days, not at twelve months. The twelve-month period and the eight-hour token limit are read from the chat service itself and checked against what these pages say. Two things here are the chat service’s account of its own system rather than ours, and nothing on this site checks them: that the deletion removes those records on that schedule, leaving nothing behind, which it has tested against a restored copy of real data; and that network addresses go within two days.

To have a conversation, and any email address you gave the chat, deleted before then, write to hello@speakenglish.courses.

• This site sends no visit information to advertising, analytics or social platforms.
• It does not follow you from one website to another.
• Until you send a chat message, there is no stored site data to remove through your browser settings.
• After that, clearing site data for the chat panel’s address removes the entry, and the chat starts a new conversation the next time you write.
• You do not need to change browser settings to prevent tracking by this site.

Fonts. The site uses fonts already on your device; it fetches none from an external provider.

Embedded media. There are no external video players, maps or social buttons. The support chat is the one embedded thing here: a button that opens the chat panel in a frame.

Analytics. The site does not use analytics to count visitors, follow the pages they read or record where they came from.

This page promised that before a new tool was enabled we would say what it stores, its purpose and how long it lasts. The support chat is the first such tool, and the entry above is that description.

The chat’s entry is written only when you start a conversation, and only to carry it, so it was treated as part of what you asked for rather than as something to offer you a choice about. Storage that is not part of something you asked for will still be put to you for consent first, with a choice to decline and a way to change your decision.

Adding a booking tool or form service in future could change what the site needs to store again.
