Privacy and cookies
How this website uses cookies and analytics.
Short version: this website uses cookies, and it can use Google Analytics if you say yes. You choose, you can change your mind, and nothing is tracked inside the children’s lessons.
Who this is for
This website (speakenglish.courses) is for adults: parents, carers and teachers. Children do not use this website. Children play lessons at rainbow.speakenglish.courses, which is a separate service with its own account rules.
Google Analytics and cookies: what we do
This website uses cookies and, once you accept them, Google Analytics (GA4). We use Google Consent Mode v2. Everything starts as “denied”. Google Analytics is not loaded, and sets no cookies, until you click Accept all or switch analytics on in Settings. If you click Reject non-essential, it stays off.
What is collected and why
- If you accept analytics: page views and a few clicks (a demo was started, a plan button was pressed, a form was sent), plus your approximate location (country or city level), device and browser type. IP anonymisation is on, Google signals are off, and ad personalisation is off. We use this to learn which pages help parents and to fix what does not.
- Always, even without analytics: if you use a form, the details you type (your e-mail address, and on the contact form your name and message) so that we can reply. Forms are protected by Cloudflare Turnstile, which checks that you are not a robot.
- Never: advertising cookies, advertising profiles, or tracking of children. Analytics events are not sent from inside the lesson demos.
Each cookie
| Name | Set by | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
se_consent | This site (first party) | Remembers your cookie choice. Essential. | 6 months |
_ga | Google Analytics (only after you accept) | Tells one browser from another so visits can be counted. | 2 years |
_ga_<ID> | Google Analytics (only after you accept) | Keeps the session state for our analytics property. | 2 years |
| Security check | Cloudflare Turnstile (only when you open a form) | Stops automated abuse of the forms. Cloudflare may store a short-lived value in your browser for this. | Session or short-lived |
| Checkout | Not used today | This site does not set payment cookies. | None |
If Google Analytics is not switched on for the site, no analytics cookie is set at all.
How to withdraw or change your consent
Use here, or the link in the footer of every page, and switch analytics off. Doing so stops Google Analytics and removes its cookies from this site. You can also delete cookies in your browser. Your choice is remembered for 6 months, then we ask again.
Children
Accounts are created by adults. A child profile holds only a nickname and an avatar. A child’s voice recordings stay on the device. The lesson demos on this site run in a sandboxed frame, set no analytics and send nothing to Google.

Changes
We will update this page if our use of cookies changes. Last updated: 4 November 2026.
